Our retreat will be based on the renown Gawthorpe Hall Textile Collection founded by the 20th Century maker, teacher, philanthropist and social activist, The Honourable Rachel Kay Shuttleworth (1886-1967).
Between classes, we will visit Gawthorpe Hall as well as their brand new Textile Study Centre, where, with the curator, we will study some of the 30,000 textile items comprising the collection.

Harriet's Workshop
Gawthrope Parrot
As a key member of our kit development team and with over 15 years experience as a quilting tutor, Harriet has spent hundreds of hours over the past year stitching our upcoming Special Edition kit, The Gawthorpe Bed Hanging.
We have invited Harriet to showcase her experience with this magnificent design during this retreat, when she will teach a design inspired by the bed hanging.

Phillipa's Workshop
Gawthrope Peacock
Phillipa has drawn her inspiration from a magnificent crewel work panel, which Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth created as part of the same bed hanging set to be hung on her own Tester Bed at Gawthorpe Hall.
This new design, The Gawthorpe Peacock, joins the Gawthorpe Pomegranates and Gawthorpe Cherry Tree which form part of the same series.
