The kit is both beautiful and functional . The design has a lovely balance of design and negative space with gorgeous winter/ Christmassy colours.
The way the wool is laid out on a sticky tape is inspired and the colour chart is clear and instructions, together with the videos , are easy to follow with helpful hints like how to pull wool out without tangling. ( Although I prefer not to use the cling film idea as it’s plastic , but use an old piece of linen to wrap around the outer frame instead. )

I purchased the Rowan Tree - Online Course because there were stitches on the Rowan Tree that I was not familiar with. Phillipa's teaching videos are excellent and I was able to follow along with her as she taught the Buttonhole, Whipped Spiders Web, Pistil, Spiral Buttonhole, Raised Statin, and Spiral Pistil stitches -- all stitches I did not know how to do. The video camera moves in to capture Phillipa actually making the stitches while she is commenting on how to do them. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this online course. It is wonderful to have the teacher at home every time you need it. I enjoyed it very much. But I would appreciate more zenital images because the angle of the camera doesn't always allow you to see completely the directions of Phillipa. The design is gorgeous.

I purchased this kit because the design and colors are gorgeous! It’s even more beautiful in real life than in the extremely well done photographs. While crewel is not my favorite type of embroidery because it can be difficult to bring the threads through the base cloth, I am really looking forward to working on this piece…as soon as I finish my grandson’s Christmas stocking, which is crewel as well.
I'm loving this piece of crewel embroidery. I chose it because it has so many stitches that I have not done. I also purchased the Rowan Tree Kit video class and have enjoyed learning from Phillipa's excellent instruction. I'm also enjoying the larger size of the piece. Thank you so much!

The instruction booklet in the kit is necessarily brief and probably sufficient for stitchers experienced with goldwork and silk embroidery, For those not so experienced, I strongly recommend the online course. Zina goes step by step through the entire project. Next best thing to having her with you. My only criticism is more close ups of her stitching would be better. Occasionally the camera backs off just when I wanted a closer look. Not a big problem. Overall, 5 stars.
If you enjoy very large expansive embroidery look no further. The Georgian Bouquet ticks all the boxes then some. First class materials and crystal clear instructions.
I enjoyed the video especially learning about the history of the castle and its family. I was rather disappointed in the Study of Needkework. There wasn’t enough close up shots or discussion of the threads and stitches. I felt there wasn’t enough examples of all the various forms of needlework in the castle. From a family/castle point of view it was good but I felt from a needlework point of view it wasn’t up to the calibre that I was expecting. The camera panned too quickly over pieces and not enough true close ups. Therefore I felt a 3 or 4 was the highest I could rate it.
This item arrived in a very timely fashion and was parcelled beautifully. The box contents were b wonderfully presented and a brief read through the stitching guide proved it to be comprehensive - I just can’t wait to make a start, thank you to the team
