WHAT FRAME SHOULD BE USED TO STITCH THIS DESIGN?

Everyone will have their own preferred setup to stitch a design of this size however in our experience the most convenient and comfortable way to stitch this design is on a 76 inch (193 cm) slate frame with trestle ends.

The advantages of a slate and roller bar frame is that the whole width of the design can stitched. The entire linen is then stitched in sections. These frames also achieve very good tension. The downside is that once mounted the project is difficult to move and is best left in situ, so having a space dedicated to it is needed.

In the UK the Royal School of Needlework offer high quality slate frames and trestlesFor a US supplier contact Carrie Roberts at Ecclesiastic Sewing.
