Barcelona Residential - April 2026

During this Retreat, our first outside of the UK, we will spend a total of 10 days in the Catalunya region of Spain. The retreat starts on 10th April 2026 in Barcelona and end on 20th April 2026.

The first 3 days of this retreat will be spent in Barcelona city where we will stay a stone's throw from the prestigious shopping area of Passeig de Gracia.

Workshops and accommodation will take place each day in a private members' club located in an incredible Modernista building just a few minutes from our hotel, overlooking the elegant Diagonal, in the heart of the upper part of Barcelona. Coffee shops, lunch spots, and great shopping are right outside the door. There will be plenty time to absorb this wonderful city between or after classes and take in the best local sights, great architecture, and the balmy Spring weather. A walk or cycle around the old town too is a must for those who wish to.

After our city leg, we will travel 2 hours north west by coach on a spectacular journey through the foothills of the Pyrenees. We will eventually arrive at the spectacular valley of Cerdanya, an area of natural beauty located on the French border and prized locally for it's dramatic views of the Cadi mountain range, diverse flora and fauna, and great food.

We will have exclusive use, for a further 7 days, of the 5-star luxury Torre del Remei where will settle into further workshops, enjoy the spring blossom in the elegant hotel gardens, and the tranquility of this very special countryside retreat.

Laura and Priti both live in Barcelona and travel to Cerdanya regularly so they know the areas we will be visiting very well and will be on hand to provide local knowledge and language when needed.

Flights should be organised to arrive to Barcelona El Prat airport.

The detailed itinerary is still in development, but will include our usual mix of stitching, exploring and socialising. You can expect entertaining evening lectures and local excursions, but as always the star of our retreats are the workshops!

The retreat starts on 10th April 2026 in Barcelona and end on 20th April 2026.

As always, Crewel Work Residential Retreats are great. Askham Hall was a delight, the Askham staff was great and the food was amazing. The Crewel Work team, Phillipa, Laura and Priti do a fantastic job setting up the retreat and overseeing everything. They were always available, knowledgeable and helpful. The tutors, Jenny Adin-Christie, Natalie Dupuis and Phillipa Turnbull were a delight. Each tutor's project was different, the written instructions are thorough and complete. - Nancy, 2024 participant
