Dunollie Castle is the seat of Clan MacDougall, one of the oldest and most powerful Scottish Highland Clans. Location about 1 mile north of Oban, in an area of Argyll known to have been inhabited for at least 8,000 years, the now ruined medieval Dunollie Castle overlooks the Western Hebrides, guarding the key waterways of the West Coast of Scotland.
