Representing work from the sixteenth century through to the modern day, Lanto's collection features pieces of exceptional rarity, individuality, and craftsmanship. It encompasses a broad spectrum of historic embroidery, including crewelwork hangings, samplers, needlework pictures, and exquisitely made Indian export coverlets. This important addition to the Ulster Museum’s holdings was presented to National Museums NI in 2023, by Lanto, through the UK Government’s Cultural Gifts Scheme, marking a significant enhancement to the Museum’s textile and embroidery collections.
