Glamis Whitework

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of whitework embroidery with this special two-day Glamis Whitework Class, designed especially for beginners. Guided by Di Kirchner—an acclaimed Australian embroidery artist celebrated for her mastery of whitework and reticella—this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from a true expert. Over two four-hour sessions, Di will introduce you to the fundamentals of whitework, sharing her tips, techniques, and passion for this delicate art form.

The project for this class is inspired by the exquisite floral roundel set into the plasterwork of the main drawing room at Glamis Castle. Di will guide you through interpreting this historic motif in embroidery, teaching you how to create crisp, elegant stitches and delicate textures. Whether you are new to needlework or looking to expand your repertoire, you will leave with new skills and a beautiful piece to cherish.
