Every year, as we approach the festive season, we find ourselves caught between our natural aversion to the consumerism of the Christmas period, and the need to end the year well and offer, for those who have been waiting, the chance to purchase our products at a discount.

Needlework is an investment, of time and money, it is slow, it takes dedication and commitment. It requires a mind-set geared to enjoying the journey while being committed to the finish. In return it can give us satisfaction, an heirloom to pass down, a deep sense of peace, and even a community to be part of. There is so much to celebrate about needlework, and these qualities become even more important as we move towards Christmas.

So this year, we will be shunning the customary consumerism of Black Friday and launching Give Back Friday.

If you want to be part of Give Back Friday, you are welcome to join and take advantage of the discounts we will offer. Otherwise, if you would rather avoid Black Friday, you can buy at any time knowing that you are supporting our small, local, women-led business and that your purchase contributes to the preservation of historic embroideries through our year-round donations to castles and country houses in the UK.

We recognise that many people wait for this time of year to buy large purchases, and in a world starved of high-quality needlework materials, we wouldn't wish to deny the opportunity to those who have been saving for it. Furthermore, it would be reckless of us to ignore the fact that we need the Christmas sales in order to end the year well, our small team depends on it. We can only do what we do if we remain open.

So, while we do not stand for what Black Friday represents, by offering a discount in the right way on Friday 25th November, we are able to support our business at this crucial time of year, and at the same time democratise high quality, sustainable, and above all SLOW consumption.

To achieve this, a dedicated sign up form will allow access to a discount on our products....the deepest one we can muster.

★ If you have already signed up to the Give Back Friday Event through our form, you don't have to do anything more. Just stay connected and check your email on Friday 25th November. The event will be working for 24 hours from midnight to midnight UK time.

We don't mass produce and therefore all our products are limited. So whoever has access will have the opportunity to buy the available stock for Christmas before anyone else and at our best price.
