Kate Barlow Collection
Kate Barlow is a professional hand embroiderer and tutor based in North Wales. She originally trained in Theatre Design at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, working in costume for companies such as Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Welsh National Opera before retraining at the Royal School of Needlework, where she graduated with Distinction from the Future Tutors Programme in 2016.
Her work has received multiple awards, and in 2015 her silk-shaded budgie, “Smuggler”, was accepted into the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Kate now teaches internationally, creates embroidery kits, and contributes to conservation and costume projects. She was part of the RSN Embroidery Studio team for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla in 2023.

Where possible we donate up to 10% of the proceeds of the sale of a kit to the castle, country house, or institution that the original embroidery belongs to, to support the conversation of the original artefact.
