Experience the vibrant culture of Barcelona from April 10th to 20th, 2026, during our exclusive retreat. Begin your journey in the heart of the city, staying near the prestigious Passeig de Gracia. Enjoy three days of workshops in a stunning Modernista building, with ample time to explore Barcelona's architecture and lively atmosphere.

Travel to the serene Cerdanya valley for a seven-day stay at the luxurious Torre del Remei, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome

Fri 10 April 2026

Our retreat begins at 5pm, the exclusive private members club Circulo Equestre in the heart of Barcelona which will be our home for the first part of this retreat. We will have a chance to meet and enjoy our first meal together as a group.

Day 2: Tuition

Sat 11 April 2026

On our first day of classes, you will have a chance to spend the day working on a design offered by Zina Kazban or Phillipa Turnbull. In the evening we will enjoy a lecture and dine together once again.

Day 3: Tuition

Sun 12 April 2026

On this second day of workshops, you will finish your class with either Zina Kazban or Phillipa Turnbull, and enjoy an evening to explore the town at your leisure.

Day 4: Travel & Excursion

Mon 13 April 2026

In a change of pace, we will leave the hustle of the city and head for the tranquility of the Pyrenees Mountains. After enjoying a lunch at our second residence, the luxurious Torre Remei, you will have a few hours to wonder around the local town or explore the hills with our local guides.

Day 5: Tuition

Tue 14 April 2026

On this second set of workshops, students will join either Zina Kazban or Natalie Dupuis to continue their needlework experience.

Day 6: Tuition

Wed 15 April 2026

Today students will join complete the workshops started with Zina Kazban or Natalie Dupuis, before we say goodbye to Zina as she travels back to the UK.

Day 7: Excursion & Rest Day

Thur 16 April 2026

Taking a break from the intensity of classes, students will have the option to relax in the stunning hotel grounds or spend the day exploring the region with a specially organised tour.

Day 8: Tuition

Fri 17 April 2026

Join Phillipa Turnbull or Natalie Dupuis on this final set of workshops for the retreat. Dive into a third fabulous design and immerse yourself completely!

Day 9: Tuition

Sat 18 April 2026

On our final day of workshops with either Natalie Dupuis or Phillipa Turnbull, you will work through the skills needed to take your design to completion.

Day 10: Free Day

Sun 19 April 2026

A last chance to soak in the beauty of the mountains from the comfort of the hotel or exploring one of the many charming villages in the valley. On this final day, we will share a special farewell dinner and a chance to reflect on all the weeks adventures.

Day 11: Travel & Farewell

Mon 20 April 2026

We make our way back to Barcelona and say our final farewells, with drop offs available Barcelona Airport and city centre hotel.

A trio of talent awaits you for our first retreat outside of the UK! We are joined by Zina Kazban, Natalie Dupuis and Phillipa Turnbull - bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience across the all the hand embroidery disciplines.

Whether savoring exquisite cuisine or simply enjoying the club's unique charm, Circulo Equestre provides an unparalleled experience of tradition and modernity in one of Barcelona's most iconic locations.

Our second home in the tranquil heights of Cerdanya, in the Catalan Pyrenees, is is the stunning Hotel Torre del Remei. For 7 nights the hotel is exclusively ours, a home away from home. The hotels gastronomic focus on local products and authentic flavors of the region of La Cerdanya, mean we are in for a culinary treat. The peaceful setting provides the most idyllic space for settling into some stitching.

Coach travel during the retreat. Transfers from local train stations and airport are available.
Tuition & Kits
6 full days of tuition, 3 workshop kits, loan of a frames, magnifying light and other equipment, and a goody bag.
Excursions & Lectures
Evening lectures from local speakers as well as from our tutors. Visit to local villages and town during our mountain stay.

Zina Kazban

Zina is a graduate of the Future Tutors programme at the Royal School of Needlework.  She also had a professional fashion embroidery training at Ecole Lesage (Métiers d’Art CHANEL).
