Di Kirchner

Di Kirchner is an accomplished embroidery artist whose passion for needlework began while working with the South Australian Smocking and Embroidery company, Country Bumpkin. There she explored, designed, and taught a wide variety of techniques, sparking a lifelong love of embroidery.

To further her skills, Di joined the South Australian Embroiderers’ Guild and completed a Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework in 2024. Her work is especially inspired by traditional techniques, with a focus on needlelace and whitework, often influenced by the beauty of historical embroideries.

As a tutor, Di is dedicated to sharing the joy and benefits of embroidery. She has contributed to Inspirations Studios for over 20 years and taught at Create in Stitch, the Embroiderers’ Guild of South Australia, as well as interstate and overseas. Her teaching reflects her passion for nurturing creativity and inspiring others to explore this timeless art.
