We are thrilled to be returning to the our very favourite country house hotel, Askham Hall, a family-owned hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant in the Lake District and just a few minutes drive from our base in Appleby.
Askham will become our home-from-home for the duration of our stay and the staff at the Hall are ready to make this a truly amazing experience for us.

Askham Hall is a family-owned Michelin-starred restaurant and hotel situated on the edge of beautiful Askham village and in the heart of the Lowther Family Estate. Currently run by Hon. Charles Edwin Lowther, Askham has become one of the finest culinary destinations in Britain in recent years.
Originally a family home, Askham's 19 bedrooms are all individually decorated and have a warm, welcoming feel. There have been many royal guests over the years, including Prince Philip, who slept in The Admiral's Room every year for 30 years whilst competing at the annual Lowther Show.

Arrival: The retreat will officially begin at 5.30pm on Saturday 2nd March 2024 at the Cottons Hotel, where we will spend our first night. We recommend flying to Manchester Airport, which is a short distance from the hotel. We will then travel north to Askham Hall the following day.
Departure: we will return to The Cottons Hotel at approximately 1pm on Tuesday 12th March 2024. Our drop-off points will be Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, or our The Cottons Hotel.

We will be joined by three world-class embroidery tutors for this retreat.
Jenny Adin-Christie - Jenny will teach for two days at the beginning of the week. Each student will be able to choose form a range of designs from Jenny's collection. Details to follow
Natalie Dupuis - Natalie will be teaching a new Goldwork design based on an inlaid box from Muncaster Castle. Details to follow
Phillipa Turnbull - Phillipa will teach. anew crewel work design based on the collection at Muncaster Castle. Details to follow
